History:
HoCo Climate Change, formerly The Climate Change Initiative of Howard County (CCIHC) was formed in 2007 by a group of Howard County residents who are concerned about climate change.  We held our first organizing meeting on May 18, 2007 in Tim Sosinski's office.  About 20 people attended and 12 decided to join a four week discussion circle "Global Warming: Changing Course".  After 4 sessions and a potluck dinner, we decided to continue for another four weeks, using the book "Low Carbon Diet".  After another party ("Live Earth: 7/7/2007") we decided to launch our initiative.  While our initial focus was on starting additional discussion circles, we have branched out to other goals in our second and third years.  We are now a partner of HoLLIE (Howard County Legacy Leadership Institute) and the Howard County Earth Forum.  We have also added Advocacy as a focus of our efforts.  CCIHC changed its name to HoCo Climate Change in 2013.
