Howard County and Maryland State Advocacy 2011- 2012

We have members looking into the issue of the proposed Frederick County Incinerator and the possibility - discussed in several newpaper articles, that Frederick Co. will ask Howard County to buy-in when the Howard County current trash contract expires in 2013.  More on this to come.  See http://no-incinerator.org  and Environmental Integrity Project Report www.environmentalintegrity.org/10_13b_2011.php   CCAN position here

HB 864/SB 595 - Community Energy-Generating Facilities and Net Energy Metering
Creating a community energy-generating program; specifying that a community energy-generating facility is not an electric company or electricity supplier; requiring community energy-generating facilities to meet specified location, size, and generation criteria; authorizing a public service company or any other person to own a community energy-generating facility; authorizing subscriber organizations to contract with third parties for specified functions; etc.
